Car Hire Paphos

Paphos town, Kato Paphos, Coral Bay and the airport

Car hire in Paphos priced by how long you keep the car

Car Hire Paphos LTD hires out its own cars in Paphos. On our rate card read 26 August 2026, a Nissan March costs 65 EUR for one day, 40 EUR a day across 3 to 6 days and 25 EUR a day for 15 to 29 days. An optional 15 EUR-a-day waiver caps bodywork damage at 300 EUR, and nothing is paid before pick-up. For car hire in Paphos town, we hand the car over at our office, your hotel or the airport.

  • Pay at pick-up
  • Waiver caps excess at 300 EUR

The car comes back to a Paphos point.

This form sends us a request. No car is set aside until we write back and say yes. Deposit of €300, taken at pick-up. No prepayment.

  • You pay at pick-up, in cash or by card, and we take the 300 EUR deposit then too. It comes back at return. No prepayment.

  • Pick a collection time at least 8 hours after you send the form. A request in before 20:00 is answered that evening, a later one the next morning. We reply between 08:00 and 23:00, Cyprus time.

  • Four Paphos handover points: our office, the airport, Coral Bay and Kato Paphos. We also hire from a Limassol office on its own card, and deliver to Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa. Each car goes back to the town it left; a return anywhere else is charged from 300 EUR.

Paphos hire at a glance

Four Paphos handover points, and what each costs outside 09:00 to 17:30

We hand cars over at four Paphos points: at three we bring the car to you, and at our office you come to us. Between 09:00 and 17:30 a handover is free, except an airport pick-up under five days, which is 20 EUR. Outside that window it is 30 EUR per end, and a hotel return is free at any hour.

A delivery needs a street address, because a named area spans several kilometres. The address never changes the price.

In Paphos the form lists the office, delivery to your address, the airport, Coral Bay, Chlorakas and Kato Paphos as delivery areas, and seven named hotel points. Several of those hotels take no weekend pick-up; the form says so when you choose one.

The car comes back to Paphos

We hire cars in five towns and run no one-way hire between them. A car collected in Paphos goes back to a Paphos point, and a return in another town is charged from 300 EUR.

Limassol has its own office at Analipseos 1, Kato Polemidia, Lemesos 4154, with a separate rate card, so hire a Limassol trip from there. Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa get delivery only; ask us how delivery there works.

Delivery to a hotel or villa

Give the address and a time on the form. Inside 09:00 to 17:30 delivery is free, outside it 30 EUR for that end. Ending the hire at a hotel is free at any hour.

Chlorakas, as a delivery area

We deliver to Chlorakas, the village just north of town, on the same terms as Coral Bay. Our office is on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue in Paphos, not in Chlorakas.

A month or longer

Hires of 30 days and more are quoted all-in on our long-term page or by phone, not here.

Buggies are hired in Paphos only and have their own pages.

The Paphos day rate for one day, three to six days, and fifteen days or more

An economy car is 65 EUR for one day, 40 EUR a day across 3 to 6 days and 25 EUR a day across 15 to 29 days. The full length of the hire sets the band, so all ten days of a ten-day hire are charged at the 10-to-14-day rate. The waiver adds 15 EUR a day. Card read 26 August 2026.

Lowest rate in each class, in EUR per day, from our card as read on 26 August 2026. The band follows the whole hire length. The waiver is extra, and hires of 30 days or more are priced on the long-term page.

The lower numbers you will see on comparison sites

Search results on 13 August 2026 showed headlines of £7.01 a day (TravelSupermarket), Momondo headlining £11 with an average from £20, £13 (Kayak) and £24 (Skyscanner). One Paphos firm footnotes its advertised prices as "for rentals of 16 days+" (Arenda, 3 August 2026). Those headlines sit below our 65 EUR one-day figure, and none of the snippets shows an excess.

How we read and date these figures: the way our rates are checked.

Four days in a Nissan March, collected at the office at 10:00: 4 × 40 = 160 EUR for the car, 4 × 15 = 60 EUR for the waiver, 220 EUR together. That includes 800 km (200 a day); ticking unlimited kilometres adds 4 × 20 = 80 EUR. The 300 EUR deposit is held and handed back at return.

Keep the car a fifth day and the bill is 5 × 40 = 200 EUR, with unlimited kilometres and nothing to tick. Ten days cost 10 × 30 = 300 EUR, because all ten take the 10-to-14-day rate.

A family taking the Toyota Sienta Hybrid for ten days pays 10 × 65 = 650 EUR, plus 150 EUR with the waiver. The Sienta has no young-driver charge for anyone aged 21 or over, and the child seat and second driver are free.

Included, per day or per event: the extras on a Paphos hire

The day rate carries liability cover, roadside help, a second driver and a child seat. You can add the waiver, unlimited kilometres on a short hire, and out-of-hours handovers.

Unlimited kilometres on a short hire is a box you tick on the form, never ticked for you. Leave it empty and nothing is added. From five days kilometres are unlimited anyway.

Three sets of hours apply. We reply from 08:00 to 23:00, and a request in before 20:00 is answered the same evening. The office is open Mon to Fri 08:00 to 19:00, Sat and Sun 09:00 to 16:00. The 09:00 to 17:30 window only sets the handover fee. The day rate itself does not move with the hour or the weekday (measured 24 August 2026).

Source: our own terms. Handover fees set 2 September 2026; mileage, deposit and young-driver settings 19 September 2026; office hours 29 September 2026.

  • Handover outside 09:00 to 17:30: 30 EUR per end
  • Airport pick-up under five days: 20 EUR

  • Late return: 100 EUR, then 20 EUR for every started hour
  • Returned in the wrong town: from 300 EUR

A deposit that comes back, an excess that might not

The deposit is the 300 EUR we hold at pick-up and hand back when the car returns. The excess is the most you pay toward bodywork damage once you buy the 15 EUR-a-day waiver, and it is also 300 EUR. Two figures, kept apart.

Other firms go lower. Thrasos advertises a 250 EUR excess with no deposit and no excess block (13 August 2026). PafoRentals and Paphos Car Rental both advertise zero excess on a full-insurance product, the latter for drivers aged 25 to 75 (3 August 2026). On excess alone, those firms publish lower figures than ours.

What the waiver does, and what you pay, in six situations:

If this happensWhat the waiver doesWhat it costs you
You return the car undamagedNothing to claimThe 300 EUR deposit comes back; the waiver days you chose stay paid
A scraped door, waiver boughtCaps your shareAt most 300 EUR
A cracked windscreen or a split tyreNot covered: glass and tyres sit outside itNot capped by the waiver
Damage under the car or inside itNot covered: underbody and interior sit outside itNot capped by the waiver
A lost keyNot coveredNot capped by the waiver
Driving past the end of the tarmacNot covered: off-road use sits outside it450 EUR per violation plus 20 EUR per started km for the small cars; 600 EUR plus 30 EUR for the X-Trail, Sienta and Serena

The deposit is 300 EUR whatever the car and however long the hire, paid at pick-up in cash or by card. Any card that takes a pre-authorisation works, whatever its brand, Revolut included, "subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions".

We do take a deposit. Two Paphos firms advertise none (Thrasos, 13 August 2026; Arenda, "no deposit (Full insurance)", 3 August 2026), and one aggregator's supplier holds an amount on your credit card that "requires the PIN code" at pickup (EasyTerra, 3 August 2026).

One Paphos firm names "€500 and €1,500" as the usual Cyprus deposit (Arenda, 3 August 2026). That is their figure, not ours.

Drivers aged 21 to 90, and the surcharge at either end

You can drive our cars from 21 with a licence held two years, shown as the original, and up to 90 on the pick-up date. Surcharges apply at both ends of that range, and only to the rental line.

21 and two years

The minimum age is 21, with at least two years since the licence was issued.

Every named driver counts

The youngest named driver sets any young-driver charge, and the oldest sets any senior one.

The percentages

Under 24: +15 % on six cars; X-Trail under 29: +10 %; Sienta and Serena: none; 74 to 75: +15 %; 76 to 90: +30 %; over 90: refused.

Original licence

Bring the licence itself to the handover; a photo or photocopy is not accepted.

A 22-year-old on a four-day Nissan March pays 15 % of the 160 EUR rental line, 24 EUR. The waiver and handover fees carry no surcharge. Settings as read on 19 September 2026.

For a 78-year-old on a seven-day Nissan Note, the rental line is 7 × 40 = 280 EUR and 30 % of it adds 84 EUR. Nobody over 90 can be named as a driver.

The largest local firm by fleet hires to a "Driver aged 25 to 74" and adds "€5/day" from 74 (Elephant, 3 August 2026). Alamo's Paphos page runs 25 to 79 (13 August 2026); EasyTerra says limits are "determined by the various car rental companies" (3 August 2026). Arenda welcomes under-25s too (3 August 2026).

Public rules, not ours, decide which licences are valid here: the EU's Your Europe page on licence recognition says a lifetime licence issued in any EU country is valid in every other one. A licence from outside the EU is left to each country to accept, and since the EU sets no rules for an international driving permit, one can be turned down (checked 12 August 2026). the UK government's Cyprus travel advice says the photocard UK licence can be used here, while holders of the old paper version may need to upgrade it or carry a permit (checked 12 August 2026).

These are our hire rules, not Cyprus road law.

Our terms beside named Paphos firms: where theirs beat ours, and where ours hold

At least one Paphos firm publishes a lower excess than ours, and several take no deposit. Our age range runs wider than Elephant's and Alamo's, our dated rate table sits next to the excess, and our off-road penalties are stated in euros.

Third-party cells come from each firm's own site on the date shown. Firms are named, not linked, and re-checked every 90 days.

Where another firm's published terms beat ours
  • Thrasos advertises a 250 EUR excess and takes no deposit (13 August 2026).
  • PafoRentals and Paphos Car Rental sell zero-excess products, the second for drivers aged 25 to 75 (3 August 2026).
  • Elephant's cover includes tyres and windscreens (3 August 2026); our waiver excludes both.
  • Elephant, Arenda, Paphos Car Rental (3 August 2026) and A.S Alpan (13 August 2026) give unlimited kilometres on any length; ours starts at five days.
  • Thrasos delivers free to both airports and other places in Cyprus (13 August 2026), a wider free area than ours.
Where our terms hold
  • We take drivers from 21 up to 90 and publish the surcharge; Elephant and Alamo start at 25.
  • Our rate table carries a date and sits next to an excess figure; none of the seven sites observed shows both.
  • The off-road penalty is printed in euros here; none of the seven prints one.
  • No prepayment, level with Thrasos; Paphos Car Rental takes a €30 booking deposit (3 August 2026).
  • Second driver and child seat free at every length, which only ties with Paphos Car Rental.

Hire elsewhere if you want the lowest published excess, no excess, or unlimited kilometres on a three-day hire. Our terms fit a driver aged 21 to 24 or over 75, and anyone who wants every figure in front of them before sending a request.

Booking.com's search snippet put the average day at $38 and a week near $267 (13 August 2026). That is an average across suppliers and ours is a band for one car class, so the two do not compare directly.

Headlines drift. EasyTerra's lowest-priced named Paphos supplier went from £12 to £15 a day between 3 and 13 August 2026, and TravelSupermarket's headline from £6.88 to £7.01. Neither page put a date on its figure.

This page earns us only the hire fee for our own cars. No booking site pays us for sending you anywhere, and the page carries no affiliate link.

With us you pay at pick-up, cash or card, and leave the 300 EUR deposit. Nothing leaves your account before then.

Where the tarmac stops: Akamas, off-road penalties and the Green Line

Our cars stay on asphalt. The rental agreement allows 15 metres past the end of the tarmac to turn round, and no further. For dirt tracks, hire a buggy.

The named areas

Driving into these needs our prior written approval, and a car is never given it: Adonis Baths, Avakas Gorge, Lara Beach, the Blue Lagoon, White River Beach, Fontana Amorosa and Akamas Nature Park itself.

What it costs

For the March, Mirage and Note class, 450 EUR per violation plus 20 EUR per started km; for the X-Trail, Serena and Sienta class, 600 EUR plus 30 EUR. Each entry counts separately, and a track your map app calls a road is still off-road under the agreement.

The alternative

Buggies go on the tracks, on routes we agree with you in writing before you set off.

Routes and rates are on the Paphos buggy page.

On a hired moped or quad, the UK government warns, cover is normally limited to third parties, so damage to the machine itself falls on the rider (FCDO, checked 12 August 2026).

For buggies across the island, see buggy hire in Cyprus.

The car logs geofence entries and the distance driven off-road, and the agreement accepts that GPS record as evidence for the penalty.

Crossing to the north

the UK government's Cyprus travel advice. Our terms exclude a trip north of the Green Line unless you carry insurance bought for the north and the documents it requires, and have asked our permission first. The UK advice says cars hired in the Republic often have no cover in the north, and that cover is sold at crossing points such as Agios Dometios (checked 12 August 2026).

Never leave a passport as a deposit

The UK government's Cyprus travel advice warns (checked 12 August 2026) that asking for a passport as a deposit is illegal in Cyprus and says never to hand one over. Our deposit is 300 EUR, by card or in cash.

General information only, not legal advice. Rules and terms change; confirm with us when you book. Figures on this page were checked against our fact record and rental agreement on 29 September 2026; the rate card was read on 26 August 2026.

Flying into Paphos Airport and staying in town

We keep no counter in the terminal. One of our team meets your flight in the arrivals hall, and the airport page covers the landing step by step.

Airport or town: which gets you the same car for less?

The day rate is the same at every Paphos point; only the handover fee differs. Inside 09:00 to 17:30 an airport pick-up under five days costs 20 EUR and the office nothing; outside it both cost 30 EUR; from five days they match. Three days in an economy car: 120 EUR from the office, 140 EUR from the airport.

Staying in Paphos town with little touring planned? Price the touring days alone against the whole stay, since length sets the day rate.

Land after 17:30 and the airport handover is 30 EUR, the same as a late office collection. The 8-hour notice runs from when you send the request, not from when you land.

For the full landing routine, read collecting the car at PFO.

Paphos Airport terminal seen from the road

When Paphos is busiest, and how early to send a request

Ask as soon as your dates are fixed. A request costs nothing, since nothing is paid before pick-up, and the one lead-time rule is a pick-up at least 8 hours away.

DataForSEO monthly search volumes, pulled 13 August 2026, United Kingdom and Cyprus.

UK searches for car hire in Paphos peaked at 6,600 in August 2025 and fell to 1,900 in December 2025, while Cyprus searches held at 4,400 from July to October 2025. That shows when people search, not when prices move.

Our day rate does not change with the hour or the day of the week. Only the handover fee changes, at 17:30 and 09:00.

Paphos car hire questions

Twelve answers on cost, hours, drivers and cover.

In a Nissan March, three days are 3 × 40 = 120 EUR, and the waiver adds 3 × 15 = 45 EUR, so 165 EUR in total, with 600 km (200 a day) included. We also hold a 300 EUR deposit at pick-up and return it when you bring the car back. A handover outside 09:00 to 17:30 adds 30 EUR for that end.

The day rate is the same at any hour and on any day. Only the handover fee changes, to 30 EUR for a collection outside 09:00 to 17:30. The office is open until 19:00 on weekdays and from 09:00 to 16:00 at the weekend, and a weekday collection after 17:30 pays that fee.

It is 300 EUR on every car and every length, and yes, cash is accepted. So is any card that takes a pre-authorisation, Revolut included, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. We take it at pick-up and return it when the car comes back. It is separate from the 300 EUR waiver excess.

Yes. Under five days, 200 km a day is included, so four days give you 800 km. For more, tick unlimited kilometres on the form at 20 EUR a day, 80 EUR over four days. It is never pre-selected. From five days there is no limit.

Both can. A 22-year-old pays 15 % on the rental line of six of our cars, and nothing extra in the Sienta or the Serena; the X-Trail adds 10 % for anyone under 29. A 78-year-old pays 30 % on the rental line. Every driver needs an original licence held for two years, and 90 is the upper limit.

Nothing, if the handover falls between 09:00 and 17:30. Outside that window a delivery costs 30 EUR for that end. Leaving the car at a hotel at the end of the hire is free at any hour. Put the street address on the form; it does not change the price, but the driver needs it.

You may go 15 metres past the end of the asphalt to turn round. Beyond that the penalty is 450 EUR per violation plus 20 EUR per started km for the March, Mirage and Note class, or 600 EUR plus 30 EUR for the X-Trail, Serena and Sienta class. The waiver does not cover it, and GPS records count as evidence.

A return in a town other than the one you hired in is charged from 300 EUR. We run no one-way hire between our towns, so a car collected in Paphos goes back to a Paphos point. For a trip starting in Limassol, hire from our office there, which has its own rate card.

Send it before 20:00, Cyprus time, and you hear back the same evening; after that, the answer comes the next morning. We reply between 08:00 and 23:00. The pick-up you ask for has to be at least 8 hours after you send the request, and nothing is held until we confirm.

No. Glass and tyres are outside the waiver, as are the underbody, the interior, keys and any off-road use. The waiver costs 15 EUR a day and caps what you pay for bodywork damage at 300 EUR; the waiver does not cap damage to the excluded parts.

Neither costs anything, at any length of hire. Name the second driver on the request and ask for the seat there too. The age bands apply to every named driver, so a second driver aged 74 or over brings the senior surcharge onto the rental line.

Thrasos advertises a 250 EUR excess with no deposit (13 August 2026). PafoRentals and Paphos Car Rental advertise zero excess on a full-insurance product, the second for drivers aged 25 to 75 (3 August 2026). Our excess with the waiver is 300 EUR, so if the excess decides it for you, look at those firms.

Send us your Paphos dates

Tell us the dates and where in Paphos you want the car, and the reply sets out the whole bill before you commit. It is a request, and nothing is held until we confirm. We answer from 08:00 until 23:00 Cyprus time, and anything that arrives before 20:00 gets a reply that evening.
