Where the figures on this site come from

Every figure we print about our own hires is copied from one written record, and every figure about another company is read from that company's own page and dated. This page explains the process, including the cases where it stops us publishing a number at all.

Page reviewed 30 September 2026. Our own terms confirmed 3 August 2026; Paphos card recorded 26 August 2026.

One written record

We keep a single internal record of every rate, fee, deposit, excess, mileage, fuel and eligibility figure the site uses, and the owner confirms it in writing. Pages copy from the record; the record never copies from a page.

A figure that is not in the record does not get published. Adding something new means changing the record first, and now and then that leaves a question we decline to answer with a number, with a line saying why.

Before a page goes out, a script compares each locked figure on it with the record. It runs on every language version too, so a translation cannot shift a price by accident. The reservation page prices your dates from the same Paphos card our pages print, which means there is one card and not two.

A printed rate is the one-day starting figure for that vehicle. The total you pay also depends on how long the hire is, because the daily rate falls as the whole hire gets longer, and on the waiver if you take it, at 15 EUR a day. A hire under 5 days includes 200 km a day, with unlimited mileage available for 20 EUR a day, while a hire of 5 days or more is unlimited at no charge. A Paphos handover outside the fee window and the driver's age band can change the total as well.

Two kinds of date

A figure of our own carries the date the owner confirmed or recorded it: 3 August 2026 for our terms, 26 August 2026 for the Paphos card and 20 August 2026 for the Limassol card. A figure from another company carries the date we read it on that company's page, and the two kinds are never mixed.

A date tells you that someone looked at the named source on that day. It does not say the page was edited then, and it is no promise that the figure is unchanged today.

A date changes only after the figure it belongs to has really been read a second time.

Reading another company's price

We take a rival's figure from its own published page and print the company's name and the reading date beside it. We do not ring them for a quote, we do not estimate, and we do not carry a number forward from memory.

We never link to them. A rental company pointing readers at a competitor could hardly claim to be neutral about it, so the name and the date are there for you to check on your own.

When the same figure is read twice and has moved in between, both readings go on the page with both dates.

When a company stops publishing a figure, or closes, the figure is taken off our page.

Law and road rules

For legal points such as driving licences, whether insurance is valid, traffic rules, age limits and fines, we go to a government or EU source wherever one exists. In practice that is the Road Transport Department, the Cyprus Police, EU directives, Hermes Airports for airport matters and the statistics service for fleet numbers.

Every claim of this kind needs two sources, at least one of them primary, and each carries its own date. These official sources are the only outbound links anywhere on the site.

A number on a commercial website is never allowed to stand in for what a statute says.

What this method will not produce

  • Ratings, review counts, star scores or testimonials. We have collected none.
  • A statement that a vehicle is held for you, or that it is available.
  • A quote for particular dates typed into an information page; pricing your dates is the reservation page's job.
  • A discount percentage, or a saving measured against a competitor we name.
  • A countdown, or a warning that only a handful of vehicles remain.
