Car hire in Cyprus from one company's own automatic cars, in five towns

Every car here belongs to Car Hire Paphos LTD, which hands them over in Paphos and Limassol and delivers to Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa. On our Paphos card, read 26 August 2026, an economy Nissan March costs 65 EUR for one day and 35 EUR a day on a 7 to 9 day hire. The optional waiver is 15 EUR a day and caps bodywork damage at 300 EUR, and nothing is paid before pick-up. Limassol prices on a card of its own.

Ask for a car

A request, not a bookingFigures from our Paphos card read 26 August 2026. We reply between 08:00 and 23:00 Cyprus time.

The car returns to the town it left from, so choose the town first.

This form sends a request. Nothing is held until we confirm, and nothing is paid until pick-up. Deposit of €300, taken at pick-up. No prepayment.

  • No money moves before pick-up. On the day you pay the rental in cash or by card and leave a 300 EUR deposit, returned when the car comes back.

  • We reply between 08:00 and 23:00 Cyprus time. Send before 20:00 and you hear back that evening; send later and the answer comes next morning. Pick-up needs at least 8 hours' notice from sending.

Five towns, and how the car reaches you in each one

We hire cars in five towns, and a car reaches you in one of three ways: at a counter (our Paphos office or our Limassol office), met off your flight at Paphos Airport, or brought to the address you give. The town you pick sets the card, the shortest hire and the fees.

Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa have no counter of ours. A car for those towns comes from the Paphos fleet, priced on the Paphos card, and is driven to the address you name. We print no delivery figure for these towns; if a charge applies, our reply names it. Buggies and the scooter do not leave Paphos.

Our Paphos office, Apostolou Pavlou Ave 33, Paphos 8046: Mon to Fri 08:00 to 19:00, Sat and Sun 09:00 to 16:00
Paphos Airport (PFO): we meet your flight there
Coral Bay and Kato Paphos: delivery to your hotel, villa or flat
Limassol office, Analipseos 1, Kato Polemidia, Lemesos 4154: its own cars and card, 2-day minimum
Limassol hotel or villa: delivery at any length, no handover fee
Larnaca, Nicosia, Ayia Napa: delivery to an address, Paphos-card cars

Each of the four Paphos handover points is priced by the clock on the Paphos car hire page.

The thirteen Limassol models and their rates by length are in the full Limassol rate card.

For a stay up the coast, delivery to Coral Bay has a page of its own.

When the hire starts at the terminal, the Paphos Airport pick-up page covers it.

Seven things the town you pick decides

  1. 01.The rate card: the Paphos card covers Paphos and the three delivery towns; Limassol has its own.
  2. 02.The shortest hire: one day on the Paphos card, two days (48 hours) in Limassol.
  3. 03.The cars: nine models on the Paphos card, thirteen in Limassol; a Note and a Serena appear on both as different cars, and no car moves between them.
  4. 04.Handover fees: in Paphos, 09:00 to 17:30 is free except an airport pick-up under five days (20 EUR); outside it each end is 30 EUR, a hotel drop-off excepted; Limassol charges none.
  5. 05.The return: the car goes back to the town it left from, and anywhere else costs from 300 EUR.
  6. 06.Delivery: free inside the Paphos window and free in Limassol; in Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa any charge comes in our reply.
  7. 07.Buggies and the scooter: Paphos only.

So the form asks for the town first, and collection and return are both picked inside it.

The nine-car rate card, every model an automatic

The Paphos card lists nine models from a fleet of 40+ vehicles, and those nine are the cars we deliver to Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa. All are automatics. Limassol runs thirteen models of its own, listed on its own page.

One-day rates in EUR from our Paphos card read 26 August 2026. The young-driver column is from our settings read 19 September 2026 and applies to the rental line only.

The X-Trail is the four-wheel-drive car on this card, and its seat count is left off on purpose, so ask us before planning around it. The Sienta and the Serena add no young-driver surcharge from age 21, so a driver who has just turned 21 pays the printed rate in either.

Four of the nine are hybrids: the Vitz Hybrid, the Note e-Power, the Fit Hybrid and the Sienta Hybrid. The 70 EUR Nissan Note is listed without a powertrain, because our records do not settle it yet.

For seven or eight seats, weigh the Sienta against the Serena on our page for larger groups.

Buggies are hired in Paphos only, and the buggy hire pages deal with them separately.

Each card below sends a request for that exact model; nothing is held until we confirm. The figure is the Paphos one-day rate, and a longer hire drops to a lower daily band.

One day, two days or a week: what the nine-car card charges

On our Paphos card an economy car costs 65 EUR for one day, 45 EUR a day for two days and 35 EUR a day on a 7 to 9 day hire; the full hire length sets the band. The waiver adds 15 EUR a day. Card read 26 August 2026; Limassol has its own card.

Lowest per-day figure in each class, in EUR, from the Paphos card read 26 August 2026, which also prices deliveries to Larnaca, Nicosia and Ayia Napa. The band follows the full hire length, the waiver is extra, and a month or longer is quoted on the long-term page.

Two worked totals. Two days in a Toyota Vitz Hybrid: 2 × 70 = 140 EUR for the car, plus 2 × 15 = 30 EUR for the waiver, so 170 EUR. That includes 400 km (200 a day); unlimited kilometres cost 2 × 20 = 40 EUR more. A week in a Nissan Note: 7 × 40 = 280 EUR, plus 105 EUR for the waiver, so 385 EUR, with unlimited kilometres free from five days. Both times the 300 EUR deposit sits on top and comes back at return.

How each figure here is sourced and dated is set out in our method for reading and dating prices.

Next to the comparison sites

Beside our 65, the search results of 12 August 2026 showed comparison-site headlines of "from £7.25 per day" (TravelSupermarket), "from £11/day" (Kayak), "Starting from £12.18" (EasyTerra) and "from £23/day" (Skyscanner). Same island, same day, a threefold spread. All four sit below our one-day figure, and none of the four headlines shows an excess or a date.

Inside the day rate, and what gets added

The day rate already carries liability cover, roadside help, a second driver and a child seat. Everything else is optional or triggered by what happens during the hire, and each is priced below.

On a short hire, unlimited kilometres is a choice you make on the form, never set for you. Skip it and nothing is added; you get 200 km a day. From five days there is no limit to buy off.

  • Third-party liability cover
  • Roadside assistance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • A second driver, at any hire length
  • A child seat on request, at any hire length
  • Unlimited kilometres once the hire reaches five days
  • A Paphos handover between 09:00 and 17:30, at the office or a delivery point
  • In Limassol, delivery to your hotel or villa at any length

Added only when it applies

  • The waiver: 15 EUR a day
  • Fuel: out full, back full; otherwise a refuelling fee plus the fuel
  • Unlimited kilometres on a hire shorter than five days: 20 EUR a day (without it, 200 km a day)
  • Paphos Airport pick-up on a hire under five days: 20 EUR inside 09:00 to 17:30. Any other Paphos handover outside that window: 30 EUR at each end, though a hotel drop-off stays free. Late return: 100 EUR plus 20 EUR for each hour begun
  • Handing the car back in a different town: from 300 EUR
  • An age surcharge on Paphos-card cars (under 24 on most, under 29 on the X-Trail, or 74 and over), on the rental line only
  • The 300 EUR deposit: held for the hire and handed back, so not a charge

Deposit, waiver, excess: three sums, three jobs

Two of the sums in the table below are 300 EUR, and they share nothing else. The deposit is your money, held on every hire and returned with the car. The excess caps what you pay toward bodywork damage, and applies only once you buy the 15 EUR a day waiver.

Six lines, from what you pay before arriving to what the waiver will not touch:

SumAmountWhen it appliesWhat it does
Paid before pick-up0 EURneverno money moves until you collect
Deposit300 EURat pick-up, card or cashheld while you have the car, handed back at return
Waiver (optional)15 EUR a daychosen at pick-uplimits your share of bodywork damage to 300 EUR
Excess, waiver boughtup to 300 EURonly if the bodywork is damagedthe most you pay toward that damage
Outside the waivernot capped by itkeys, glass, the underbody, tyres, the interiorthe waiver does not limit what these cost
Off-road penalty450 EUR + 20 EUR per started km; 600 EUR + 30 EUR for the X-Trail, Sienta and Serenaeach drive past the tarmacnot covered by the waiver at all

A card can carry the deposit if it accepts a pre-authorisation, whatever the plastic says. Any such card will do, Revolut included, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. Cash is the other route.

If you searched for hire with no deposit, we do take one. For scale, from two island operators' own sites, both read 3 August 2026: Petsas lists an excess of 700 to 5,000 EUR depending on the car group. Cosmos lists 300 to 1,500 EUR, and doubles it on its larger groups for drivers outside 25 to 75.

Simila offers a "Zero Excess" upgrade on request, with no price printed beside it (read 12 August 2026). Ours is 300 EUR with the waiver, on every car, printed here before you ask.

Damage cases are worked through one by one on the Paphos car hire page.

This is general information about our own terms, not legal or financial advice. Terms can change, so confirm the figures with us when you book. Every figure about our own cars and terms was checked against our fact record on 29 September 2026; the Paphos rate card was read on 26 August 2026.

Licence, age and whose age sets the surcharge

You can drive our cars from 21 with a licence held two years; bring the original, not a copy. Nobody over 90 on the pick-up date can drive, and on Paphos-card cars the age surcharges at either end fall on the rental line only.

21 and two years

Every driver must be at least 21 and have held a licence for two years or more.

The percentages

On Paphos-card cars, under 24 adds 15 % on six models, the X-Trail adds 10 % under 29, the Sienta and Serena add nothing; 74 to 75 adds 15 %, 76 to 90 adds 30 %, and over 90 we cannot hire.

Whose age counts

The youngest and oldest named drivers set the surcharge; a second driver adds no charge of their own.

Original licence

Bring the licence itself to the handover; a photo or photocopy is not accepted.

Three worked cases. A 23-year-old on a two-day Mitsubishi Mirage: 2 × 50 = 100 EUR, and the surcharge is 15 EUR. A 77-year-old taking a Toyota Vitz Hybrid for a week: 7 × 50 = 350 EUR, surcharge 105 EUR. A 27-year-old with the X-Trail for three days: 3 × 80 = 240 EUR, surcharge 24 EUR. Elsewhere, Cosmos and Simila publish an age band of 25 to 75 (Simila takes other ages by arrangement; read 3 and 12 August 2026), and Kayak's pages give 75 as the maximum age (3 August 2026). easyRentaCar also hires outside that band and welcomes drivers under 25 and "seniors over 72" (12 August 2026).

On licences issued abroad, two official pages (both read 29 September 2026) say what applies: the EU's Your Europe page on licence recognition, which says a licence from an EU or EEA country is recognised across the Union, that recognising one from outside the EU is for each national government to decide, and that international driving permits are not regulated at EU level; the UK government's travel advice for Cyprus, which says a UK photocard licence can be used here and that a holder of the old paper licence may need to update it or carry a permit.

Everything in this band is our own hiring rule, not Cyprus road law.

General information about our terms, not legal or financial advice. Rules can change, so confirm with us when you book. Every figure about our own cars and terms was checked against our fact record on 29 September 2026; the Paphos rate card was read on 26 August 2026.

What Cyprus rental firms publish on their own sites, and what we publish

Two firms below beat us on something: one covers the tyres, glass and underbody our waiver leaves out, and another charges less a day for its waiver. Of the seven rental and comparison sites we read in August 2026, these four among them, none put a daily rate, an excess and a waiver price on one page; we publish all three, dated.

easyRentaCar's cover takes in "Tyres, windscreen, and undercarriage", all three excluded by our waiver. Simila's waiver costs 10 EUR a day on eight of its models, against our 15. A comparison site also searches many suppliers at once (Holiday Autos says "over 1,700"), which we do not do. The firms are named and not linked; Petsas and Cosmos were read on 3 August 2026 from their terms pages, Simila and easyRentaCar on 12 August 2026.

To judge any operator, us included, get three figures in writing first: the daily rate for your exact length, the waiver's daily cost, and the excess it still leaves you. Then ask where the car must be returned. We own the cars, so the rental you pay reaches us whole, nobody takes a slice, and nothing on this page is an affiliate link.

Flying in: the airport desks, and where we meet you instead

The firms that keep desks inside the terminal are named by the airport operator, and we are not among them. The list is Hermes Airports' own page of car rental desks in arrivals.

We meet flights at Paphos Airport (PFO) instead. A pick-up there between 09:00 and 17:30 costs 20 EUR on a hire shorter than five days and nothing from five days up; land outside that window and the handover is 30 EUR. The 8 hours of notice run from when you send the request, not from our answer.

Each step from plane to car park is on our Paphos Airport page.

When the island searches for hire cars, and how early to ask

Ask as soon as your dates are fixed; the request costs nothing, since no money changes hands before pick-up. The one hard limit is that pick-up falls at least 8 hours after you send it.

Source: DataForSEO monthly search volumes for "car hire cyprus", pulled 12 August 2026, for the United Kingdom and Cyprus.

From the United Kingdom, searches run at 6,600 a month in July and August, 5,400 in January when people plan the summer, and 1,900 in November and December. Inside Cyprus the peak is 4,400 in August and the low is 1,900. That curve tracks interest, not prices.

Our day rate does not shift with the hour you collect or the day of the week (measured 24 August 2026). Only the Paphos handover fee, set out above, changes with the clock.

Four rules that cost money if nobody tells you

None of these shows in a price table, and each becomes a bill when it goes wrong.

Crossing to the north

The UK government's travel advice for Cyprus. It warns that a car hired in the Republic often has no cover in the north, and that cover can be bought at some crossing points, Agios Dometios among them (checked 12 August 2026). Our agreement lets a car cross only with three things in place: the documents the crossing asks for, a policy written for the north, and our permission before you set off. Without them, any loss there is an exclusion.

Keep your passport

The UK Foreign Office warns that a hire firm asking for your passport as a deposit is acting illegally in Cyprus, and advises never to hand one over (checked 29 September 2026). The deposit we take is 300 EUR, by card or in cash.

Tracks count as off-road

Under the agreement, unsealed tracks and named nature areas such as Akamas Nature Park, Lara Beach and Avakas Gorge are off-road; you may go 15 metres past the tarmac to turn round, and no further. Each breach costs 450 EUR plus 20 EUR per started kilometre, or 600 EUR plus 30 EUR on the X-Trail, Sienta and Serena. The car logs its route by GPS.

The Paphos fee clock

Between 09:00 and 17:30 a Paphos handover is free, bar the 20 EUR airport pick-up on a short hire. Collecting at the office at 18:30 on a weekday costs 30 EUR, even though the office stays open until 19:00. Bring the car back late and it is 100 EUR plus 20 EUR for each hour begun.

General information, not legal or financial advice. Rules and terms change, so confirm with us when you book. Every figure about our own cars and terms was checked against our fact record on 29 September 2026; the Paphos rate card was read on 26 August 2026.

Questions about hiring one of our cars in Cyprus

Eleven answers, each standing alone.

Ask us directly

Phone or email us with your trip details and your question.

Yes. A Paphos-card car can be brought to an address in Nicosia, Larnaca or Ayia Napa at the Paphos card's daily rates, with one day as the shortest hire. We hold no counter in those towns, and our reply names any delivery charge. The car is handed back in the town it was delivered to.

Limassol runs thirteen models on its own rate card, none of them the cars on the Paphos card. An economy car there costs 45 EUR a day on a hire of 2 to 7 days, and two days (48 hours) is the shortest hire. On the Paphos card the economy figure is 65 EUR for a single day and 45 EUR a day for two.

The seven-seater is the Toyota Sienta Hybrid. A week on the Paphos card is 7 × 65 = 455 EUR; add the waiver at 15 EUR a day, 105 EUR, and the total is 560 EUR. From five days the kilometres are unlimited, and the child seat and second driver cost nothing. You also leave a 300 EUR deposit at pick-up, returned with the car.

Two: the Toyota Sienta Hybrid and the Nissan Serena add no young-driver surcharge at any age from 21. The Nissan X-Trail adds 10 % to the rental line for a driver under 29. The other six (March, Mirage, Note, Note e-Power, Vitz Hybrid and Fit Hybrid) add 15 % for a driver under 24. The youngest named driver is the one whose age counts.

Every car we hire is automatic. Four of the nine Paphos-card models are hybrids: the Toyota Vitz Hybrid, the Nissan Note e-Power, the Honda Fit Hybrid and the Toyota Sienta Hybrid. The plain Nissan Note at 70 EUR is listed without a powertrain, because our records do not settle it yet; ask us if it matters for your trip.

Nothing. The form sends a request, and no money changes hands until you collect the car. Nothing is held until we reply and confirm. At pick-up you pay the rental, by card or in cash, and leave a 300 EUR deposit that comes back when the car is returned.

Send the request at least 8 hours before you want to collect, counted in Cyprus time. Replies go out from 08:00 until 23:00, Cyprus time. A request reaching us before 20:00 is answered the same evening; one arriving after 20:00 is answered the next morning. Phone us with any question before sending.

The waiver caps your share of bodywork damage at 300 EUR and leaves six things uncapped: glass, keys, the interior, any damage from driving off-road, tyres and the underbody. Off-road driving also carries its own penalty of 450 EUR plus 20 EUR per started kilometre, or 600 EUR plus 30 EUR on the X-Trail, Sienta and Serena.

Two routes. Hire a Paphos-card car and return it to a Paphos handover point, or take one of the thirteen Limassol models, from our Limassol office at Analipseos 1, Kato Polemidia, or delivered to your hotel or villa there with no handover fee. A Paphos car left in Limassol at the end of the hire is charged from 300 EUR.

It depends on whether the card accepts a pre-authorisation for the 300 EUR deposit, not on its label. Any card that does, Revolut included, can be used, subject to approval, vehicle category and rental conditions. If yours will not, leave the deposit in cash; it comes back at return the same way.

No. Buggies and the scooter are hired from Paphos only and stay in that area; our cars reach all five towns, but they do not. If you are staying elsewhere and want a buggy day, the handover is in Paphos, and our buggy pages explain how it works.

Send us your dates and the town

Whatever you send is a request, and no car is set aside until we reply and confirm. A message before 20:00 is answered the same evening, a later one the next morning; we reply from 08:00 until 23:00 Cyprus time.
